Dear Parents and Caregivers of The Champions Kids(Room
18)
My name is Kelsi Robertson and I am truly very excited
to be a part of your child’s learning journey this year. This is my first year teaching
at our amazing school and I look forward to building new relationships and
meeting your children and the community.
At Rowandale we have an open door policy so please pop
in to say hello or ask me any questions, feel free to pop in before or after
school. If these times do not suit please phone the office and make an
appointment.
One way you can help your child’s learning this year
is by reading with them at home every night. Asking them simple questions about
the characters, what the story is about and getting them to retell the story in
their own words. This will help their progress in reading and also help across
the board with other subjects. Any help given at home will be appreciated.
Topic: Our topic for this whole year is ‘Taonga’ or ‘Treasure’.
Throughout this topic we will be exploring what treasure is and what it means
to our children and the community.
Swimming: We are extremely lucky to have swimming 3 times a
week for the first term. We will be working on our swimming skills as well as
having fun.
Tuesday 9:10 - 9:40am
Thursday 9:10 – 9:40am
Friday 10:10 – 10:40
Please ensure your child brings their togs and a towel
in a bag on these days.
Uniform: Please ensure that your child is coming to school
with the correct uniform so that we are all looking smart. Also please make
sure all their uniform is named.
Lunches: We are also proud to be a healthy habits school so
thank you for ensuring our children have a healthy morning tea and lunch. We
are a water only school, so no fizzy, juices, no lollies, takeaways or orange
chips.
I look forward to seeing you in our Champion Kids Room
this year J
